Thanks for dropping by. I hope my comment was coherent, I was a little tired when I wrote it and trying maybe to pack too much in. I'm a proud feminist and staunch supporter of equal rights for women everywhere. I'm respectful and often admiring of other cultures, but I draw the line when the argument of "different cultural values/practices" is hauled out to justify human rights abuses. After all, it used to be culturally mainstream to lynch blacks in the American south, discriminate against women in all spheres (I experienced it myself growing up), etc.
